Non-free-flowing products:
Products like cake flour, brown sugar, and flour are what we consider non-free-flowing products and tend to clump together. The screw filler agitator and screw design helps break down the product and transfer it to the filling area, often outperforming traditional net weighing accuracy capabilities. For example, if you were to run these products on a linear net weight scale, you would tend to see peaks and valleys with inaccurate weights due to the lumpy nature of these products.
Affordability and Speed Ratio
Regarding cost versus cost productivity, screw fillers like our Star Auger offer an amazing return on investment. Spiral packing is relatively inexpensive and can generate high speeds. In some cases, they may give up accuracy or not. Weighing fillers (since Auger fillers don't weigh, they are volume filling), they will likely make up for it in cost and productivity.
